Flavia was born in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil and moved to Tampa, FL in 2021. She has a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida and is now applying to medical schools. She is deeply interested in neurology and SUDEP because her oldest brother has Sotos syndrome and epilepsy. She has been at the lab as a post-bac student since graduating in 2025 and will continue on as a research assistant.
Flavia has 3 brothers, and her family has 6 cats and 1 dog back in Brazil. In her free time, she likes to play volleyball, go to the movies, and play videogames, board games, or solve puzzles. She also wants to adopt a kitten soon.
